GENERAL INFO - YOUR CHARACTER AND YOU

How old are you? 24
What is your sex? Male
Where do you come from? England
Where do you live at the moment? Still England Happy

What class and race are you wanting to play? Orc Warlock
What server are you currently on? Emerald Dream
A link to your current character would be appreciated (Post us your Armory link.) My mage

RAIDING TIMES

Do you have any other stuff to do every week on any of our raiding days? Currently no
Can you give up on it for a week or two if we are in the middle of important progress? -
Are you willing to stay for another 30 minutes to an hour past the midnight if we're just about to down a new boss? 9 times out of 10, sure
Are you in control of your own time - meaning your parents won't pull your plug off if they think you play for too long or make you eat dinner 30 minutes in the raid? My time is my own
Can you plan your evenings in advance; informing us at least day ahead that you are going out to a pub or going to the movies with mates? Baring brb, nan on fire moments, I can
How many days a week will you be able to raid on average? The majority of the time, I'll be fine with 5 days a week.

EXPERIENCE

How long have you been playing WOW? I started playing around the time the ulduar patch hit, so 2 years.
How long have you been playing with your current character (real time and /played)? Baring a short break late into ICC progression to play other things to round out my guilds raids, my mage has always been my main. /played is 90 days.

RAIDING HISTORY

When did you start raiding? Literally the day my mage hit 80. My then guild was mid-way through a naxx farm run, and they subbed me in when someone else had to leave mid-raid. That night was something crazy like a 5 hour raid-athon for me when I was taken though all of the naxx wings, short of construct iirc, Obsidian sanctum, the vault of archavon and the eye of eternity.
Did you manage to kill the Lich King on Heroic mode and if so at what % buff? Sadly I only got to 6/12 hc in wrath.
How far did you progress in current expansion on 25-mans? Until this point in cataclysm, I've been a 10 man raider. In that vein though, I've gotten to 10/12 normal (cho'gall down)
Have you completed any hard modes (10-man/25-man) and/or obtained any of the "Glory of the..." drakes? Going back to Wrath, and as with cata this was on 10 man, I achieved all of ulduar hard mode kills up to firefighter (before we grossly out-geared it), beasts of northrend and Lord Jaraxxus in TOTGC, the full storming section on hc, and Festergut/Roface in ICC/

CHARACTER HISTORY

What guilds were you in during the last 6 months? Trolling Paladin Forums
What guild are you in currently or what was your last guild? Trolling Paladin Forums
Why did you decide to leave it? Since early march we've been fighting against an increasing amount of malaise when it came to raid sign-ups. Early cata launch, we had 17 people on the roster as raiders. Right now we have 11, and despite recruitment efforts we've simply been unable to get raiders of a competent level in to fill slots so we're now at the point that we're regularly canceling 2 of our 4 raid nights a week now. I love my guild mates, but I want more out of WOW than that.

TECHNICAL INFO

How stable is your connection? Do you disconnect every 5 minutes, is your latency above 1000ms all the time? We will be able to find it out the very first raid you join so please don't lie about it. General world MS for me in a raid is about 130-140, and my connection is very stable.
Are you able to receive and make yourself understandable in english? I've been an english speaker all my life, and as a raid leader I'm use to making myself heard, so this shouldn't be a problem.
For voice communication we will use Ventrillo. Can you install, configure and use it? I can.
Do you have a microphone? Are you able and willing to use it during raids for better communication during these? Of course.
What do you use to move your character around - walking, running, turning? What keys are those moves bound to? the default WASD keys have always worked out for me. Strafe keys are bound to q and e, although pointing my character with a keyboard is, I find, far too slow so I use mouse work for that.
What keys are your main skills bound to (name 5)? On my mage:
1 = Combustion
2 = Living Bomb
3 = Fireball
4 = Scorch
5 = Pyroblast
6 = Fire Blast
- = Blink
= = Mage Ward
F1 = Time Warp

REQUIREMENTS

We require all our members to bring enough potions, elixirs, flasks, food buffs, bandages and repair gold for each raid. Sometimes you have to provide it for five days in a row. Are you able to grind it all with a smile on your face? If you want to be a progression raider, you need to reconcile that your going to need to spend time grinding these things out, which is something I long since did.
Which potion, elixirs or flask and buffing food do you use most often? And why? Flasking, I'll use the flask of the draconic mind. Can't argue with an extra 650~ spellpower. Food, I always try and maintain 2 stacks of severed sagefish in my bags.
The addons required for smooth progression are Omen and Deadly Boss Mods (for timers and range check). Can you use those addons effectively and make sure you always have working version before the raid? I'm very familar with those mods.

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS

Progressing on a new boss sometimes means wiping to him for 4 hours in a row, with improvements happening pretty slowly over time. Are you prepared for it? Why? During ulduar progression, I remember literally spending 5 hours one sunday afternoon on freyr +3 (bar trash anyway) before we got her a couple of days later. Throught-out that, the one reason I remeber we kept going was because little by little we were getting better at using say, hand of freedom on the right people in a timely manner, kiting adds correctly, and everyone on coms was prepared to stay up-beat and just keep at it. I long for those kinds of days, being honest. It bonds guilds.
Can you take the critic and learn from it? In a nutshell, yes.
If you are the one messing up, can you admit the mistake and take the blame? With a grimace on my face. I don't like fucking up, so I get fairly annoyed at myself if I do something dumb that leads to a wipe, but even the best raiders in the world don't get it 100% right every single pull. It's not a bad goal to aim for though, in my opinion.
If we decide to swap you out; due to poor performance or connection issues, can you accept it without causing any fuss? If I'm holding the raid back, it's only fair.
Do you understand that our guild got more than 25 people on the roster and you won't be taken to every single raid you sign up for? I do.

FINAL NOTES

Why do you want to join this project? I'm looking for something stable and longterm that breaks into hard mode raiding. When I stumbled across the recruitment post on the battle.net forums, my interest was peaked, and having nosed about the website and given it a couple of days through, I'm more interested now then I was then, because the tone of the website encourages me.
Why should we recruit you? Because you'll get a solid stable raider that can happily sit on a progression boss for 12-16 hours a week while we work through the encounter to get that sweet sweet kill.
Do you have any friends in our guild? Not that I know of.
Is there anything else you want to add? Feel like I've covered it all. Hope to hear back from you soon
